My Students
My scholars consist of a wide range of personalities that all have one thing in common, the eagerness to grow as scholars. With your support of my project, I will be able to provide my scholars with resources for success.
I want to set my 5th graders on a path for college readiness.
My scholars are growing up in a low-income area that does not predict their educational trajectory. They work hard to get smart, have fun, and be college-ready. I have a class of twenty-five, brilliant scholars! They are researchers, mathematicians, scientists, authors, historians, etc. My students are the future of Dallas and future members of our society. Every day, they come into my classroom excited to learn and ready to take on the challenges I have set up for them. These youngsters deserve the absolute best education they can get, and they deserve to be supported in every way possible in the most important year of their educational career.
My Project
My students have been working hard this year and they are in need of extra supplies before the break comes. Our project consists of index cards for our scholars who have been making vocabulary flashcards to help them study. It also has cardstock paper. We have a classroom economy system to teach our students some financial literacy skills to help them prepare for the real world. We use cardstock to print the money that they use to buy extra incentives around the classroom.
My students have fallen in love with Mary Downing Hahn books and are in need of a new title from her.
We have found 3 more titles from her that they would love to read. Lastly, we are in need of an SD card reader for our technology crew. They have been making videos to promote our school events and the card reader will allow us to download our recordings directly to the iPad pro where they do their editing.
