This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Can you imagine sleeping with no cot sheets or blankets, especially when the weather gets cold? This is what many of my preschoolers experience during rest time.

I teach a wonderful group of preschoolers in a New York City Public School.

My students are eager, energetic students who have a passion for learning new and exciting concepts. After a fun-filled morning of exploring and learning, they need to relax and calm their bodies.

My Project

Nap/rest time is the perfect time for my preschoolers to relax and unwind. While some students fall asleep right away, others are restless and usually fall asleep when it's time to wake up and engage in various learning experiences. Therefore, my goal is to provide my students with an environment that promotes a peaceful rest period. Having sheets and blankets for their cots will definitely ensure a more peaceful rest/nap time. Can you please help to provide blankets and cot sheets for my students?

Research has shown that rest is very beneficial to a person's well being.

A well rested child is more alert and focused. A tired and cranky child loses focus easily and is unable grasp concepts readily. I need your support in acquiring blankets and cot sheets to ensure a peaceful rest period for my amazing preschoolers.
