My students are amazing, hardworking individuals. We live in a military town so students and teachers are coming and going all the time. Most of my students come from a good family but some unfortunately do not have the best background. Our rural, small town makes it easy to make friends and I get to see my students more than just at school. My students are very diverse, we have many different types of students since the military moves them around so much.
Students will be reading this novel together as a class. We will use this novel to dig deeper into our ELA standards. This novel also has a theme that develops around bullying, which is perfect for the middle school age group.
My students want to learn and are very capable of learning.
They love to read short stories and really get into the reading. I feel that it is time that we start our first novel of the year. This novel would be a great one to start with because it will teach them life lessons, as well as helping us dive into our curriculum deeper.
