Help me give my students their own copy of Restart. We are reading this book aloud and students are constantly wanting more time with this book. They have asked if we can get a class set.
Fourth grade is such an exciting age. They have huge personalities, mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Students are learning to write using in depth details and rich vocabulary words. They are creating projects, and working collaboratively to grow academically every day. Our group loves to play outside, learn new games, have fun competitions, and eat Flamming Hot Cheetos.
In this class, we build a community around our ideas and experiences.
Read aloud is one of our classes favorite times of the day. They often ask if we can just keep reading.
We are part of a Leader in Me School. We teach the 7 habits of highly effective kids. We set goals and celebrate when we achieve them! Just this week we had a pizza party for winning a national poetry contest through Imagine Learning! I teach on a hall with four other fourth grade teachers. Our classroom works hard every day by diving into rigorous lessons. We celebrate wins together each day!
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom read aloud is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. Restart has been chosen with my students in mind! They can't get enough of this book and want their own copy to follow along with.
Students will be able to reread, read ahead, and catch up with their very own copy of Restart.
The best way to increase reading ability is to read more with eyes on the text, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
