My students need these materials to enhance their independent reading time as well as the time they spend together in small groups. This learning center will definitely be a hit in my classroom!

I love my scholars! There are so many things about them that make them special. My students are inquisitive, energetic and eager to learn. They have a zest for life and the zeal and enthusiasm for learning. They ignite a teacher's passion. They are special because they represent the future of our community, our state and our country. These children represent our hopes and dreams for tomorrow and they are hungry for knowledge and equal opportunities and they make our future as a nation more promising and bright.
Their zeal, enthusiasm and depth of thought is what I believe enables my scholars to standout among the masses.
We have some of the most insightful conversations about literature and in turn their written responses they develop are exceptional and noteworthy. Sometimes I forget that I and actually working with elementary school students because my students are such deep thinkers. I learn a great deal from them simply by listening.
I am PROUD to be their teacher and I cannot wait to see what kinds of contributions they will make to future generations.
I chose the materials that I think will enable my children to enjoy reading and responding to literature in the library center My children love to lounge on the pillows. An enhanced reading center will give them the kind of experience they deserve to have in class.
I want my students to be exposed to a variety of genres as well as a variety of different authors.
Having a fully stocked library of quality fiction and non-fiction books is my dream. I believe that my students comprehension levels will soar if they are fortunate enough to be exposed to quality literature! Students will be given Reader's Notebooks and they will be asked to reflect as they read and then record their responses in their journals. Their journal responses will be shared with peers who have been reading the same books when they move into literature circles. In addition, students who are either struggling readers or prefer to be read to will use the the listening center to listen to the literature being read. Having quality literature read aloud through book on tape helps children to become fluent themselves. The literature, the listening center materials and the teacher resource guides will help me deliver the kind of reading instruction that will push my students thinking, questioning and responding.
