Respect Yourself, Respect Your Health!

My students need a sample human torso to learn about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.

My Students

Save our children! My children need to learn about their bodies and the dangers of drugs and alcohol abuse.

My school is a Title I school, with approximately 99% of our students receiving free breakfast, lunch, and a healthy snack in the afternoon.

My students are survivors and face many challenges directly related to poverty, such as incarceration, violence, unemployment, and drug and alcohol abuse. My students are full of potential, have kind hearts, and can break the cycle of poverty in their families.

My Project

I am requesting a human body torso to use during my drug and alcohol prevention lessons. The more information my students have about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, the more they will want to protect their bodies. When I teach these lessons we discuss how various drugs and alcohol can cause addiction, the long and short term effects to their bodies, and how to handle peer pressure. It would make a huge impact for the students to actually see the parts of their bodies that can potentially be damaged. The human torso will help to engage them and help them make connections about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.

This project is exponentially important!

Helping to prevent children from drug and alcohol abuse can make a huge impact on my students, their families, and their neighborhoods. Moreover it positively impacts society by creating responsible contributing members of society.
