I am blessed to teach third grade at a wonderful Title I school in northeast North Carolina. Our students are loving, hard working, easily motivated, and care about each other and their success! They thrive on competitions and reaching goals set for them throughout the school year.
Our students get excited, work harder and stay more engaged when they are given options and choices which makes them feel valued and that their interests matter!
We are a diverse school consisting of students and families from various backgrounds and cultures as well as Coast Guard families. They are each unique and have a special way of winning our hearts with their kindness and thoughtfulness. The students and staff at our elementary school have truly become a family to one another!
My Project
I can't believe it is almost March! Where has the school year gone? My third graders have been working so hard to master the standards & skills needed to a successful fourth grader next year & I couldn't be more proud!
The days in front of us are far more important than the days that lie behind us, & our class deserves a fresh start with fresh new supplies this Spring!
We have used almost all of our beginning of the year resources & could use a fresh set of new supplies to get us through the Spring with a smile. In our classroom, we use our individual dry erase boards & fine tip expo markers daily. It's hard to see the writing on our current boards as they are so old & scuffed up. We could sure use these during all subjects, but especially during our math block. Our students have improved tremendously on the writing process this year & really enjoy having their final drafts laminated and displayed out in the hallway. We are out of laminating sheets & these would get us through to the end of the school year. Another important part of our day is adding to our individual student data binders. We use sheet protectors for each item included in the binders so students can easily take out the data tables & add to them without having to open & close their binders. Finally, we have set goals for our last semester of school & our class voted for a Glow in the Dark Dance Party for those that meet their individual goals. The black lights will be used to make the dance a huge success!
