I am a resource teacher at two elementary schools. I help students who are behind in their classes to learn at their own pace to become the best they can be. I am also a first year teacher with very limited supplies. My students need fun, exciting, and educational ways to learn. Because they are behind in their grades I want to help them learn many different ways to achieve their goals.
They are bright children who just need things taken a little slower and more in-depth.
Many of my older students 4th-6th grades are on a first grade learning level. My personal goal is to see them achieve at least one grade level jump by the end of the year.
My personal favorite thing about teaching is watching the kids learn and doing things they thought were not possible.
My Project
These bins will help organize the books in the classroom so the students know their level and are able to grab the bin and read the correct level book. Also being organized helps to run a more fluid class.
The students need to be able to have tangible items, in order to figure money and time.
The clocks and money will help my students who are visual learners. Doing lessons that have hands on really helps them retain the information that is given to them. It also allows them to work with items that look real so when they have real money or a real clock they can visualize and do the problems correctly.
