My Students

My students have disabilities and receive specialized instruction on their skill level for part of the school day. Meeting their academic needs requires a lot of time, instruction and materials.

I have been able to obtain some of the specialized materials I need; however, my classroom is still in need of items to support the wide range of abilities of my students.

I have always felt that my students seem to get what is leftover or not needed by other teachers in the school.

As my students get older they need to learn skills that will help them be successful in any career or education goals they may have.

My Project

Students will be able to access the materials at home that provide more opportunities to read. Many of my students prefer a digital format for improving their reading skills.

Many of my students are also English language learners and all have specific learning disabilities.

Despite many of the obstacles my students deal with, I am very confident in them and have set high goals for all of them. I would like all of my students to earn a high school diploma.

It has been proven that students with low reading skills will make less money than average readers.
