Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom consists of 19 creative, intelligent, and excited students that want to learn! I work in a Title I school, which means we do not always have the resources that we need to keep our students engaged and learning the material.
I want my students to learn in an environment that interests them and have fun while learning.
As a first year teacher I am still trying to fund my own classroom for resources that will allow my students to learn to the best of their ability.
My 19 students have worked so hard all year and they deserve to have new up to date resources to learn from. I have a wide variety of learners which means I need to have all the possible resources that differ by learning level to ensure they are able to exceed.
My Project
The materials that I am requesting for my students will help increase their engagement during our math and reading centers. I love being able to give my students hands on and interactive materials to complete their work. My students will be able to interact with their peers by using hands on manipulative instead of pencil to paper assignments. The students will love being able to solve a problem by using an IPad, which is a brand new device to our room.
My students always show more excitement for activities that allow them to use something to complete it instead of just filing out a worksheet.
The students will be able to learn new material by using technology that allows them to be interactive with it. The students will also have an opportunity to work on their sound-spelling with the new magnetic letters and Elkonin box cards. This will be great resources for small group with a teacher.
