I cherish my students in more ways than I can explain here. One thing that makes my EL (English Learner) students special is how different they all are from one another. They are from every type of background you can imagine and come from all parts of the world. During the normal school day, students come together anywhere from one hour to twenty minutes each day to build their English in the areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening.
I strive every day to grow them not only as students, but as people.
Every advantage we can provide for our EL students helps.
My Project
This year has been very different from any other year. Some students are learning in-person and some students are learning online. At any moment we could shut down and all students could be learning online, just like last spring. It is important we provide students with materials to learn at home so they do not fall even more behind in their learning.
By providing home learning kits to ESL students, they can continue to grow their English proficiency through reading and writing.
Each student will get one of the tote bags requested in this project. The tote bags will be filled with books as well as resources to help students continue to grow in their reading and writing. Some of the resources will be created and this is where the binder rings and brass fasteners will be used. Students will be given resources at their own level to help them continue to grow. Students and their grown ups will benefit from having these resources at home.
