My students need resources to complete research for our projects throughout the year, our classroom has one student computer that was not yet hooked up to the internet at the end of last year!
Small town atmosphere! My students have heart and faith to overcome their daily struggles of life. Many of my students live in non traditional homes (foster care, grandparents, friends). School is a safe place for them to go to obtain a meal and a sense of belonging.
Many of my students do not have simple supplies: paper & pencils.
Our community pulls together as much as possible, but it is still overwhelming trying to provide students with basics. Thank you your donation it is greatly appreciated!
My Project
My students are required to choose topics related to Eastern Hemisphere Geography and complete projects. They need research material because we are limited on lab access and we only have one student computer in our classroom (it did not have internet last year, fingers crossed it will this year!) The "Empires in the Middle Ages" and "Power and Religion in Medieval and Renaissance Times" series will provide my students with research material we can trust.
Britannica is a trusted brand that provides factual information my students can use for their projects.
We do many types of projects throughout the year to ensure every student can display their best work! We complete travel brochures, culture boxes, posters, prezi/power point presentations, but they always have to include a rough draft to show me where they got their information and how it relates. Along with their project, they must also have a written report.
Our library doesn't have a lot of options for resources concerning the Eastern Hemisphere, so the Britannica resources would be a great help! Thank you for your generosity. :)
