My students walk into the classroom every day full of life and ready to learn. I always let my students know I believe in them and they can do anything they put their mind to.
We are a Title I school in a small rural district.
Many of my students receive Cooking with Kids bags on the weekend. Despite the many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to be the best they can be.
My Project
Our class needs additional resources for our reading and writing workshop. As fifth graders, we research and write about the westward expansion. In addition, one of our units in reading focuses on the genre fantasy.
We need additional resources to research and write about the westward expansion.
Students like to research about the California Gold Rush, Oregon Trail, Louisiana Purchase, and Lewis and Clark. Due to the fact that all of the 5th graders are researching similar topics we currently have limited resources.
We also need additional books for our fantasy book clubs like Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane and Rowan of Rin.
