Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Already teaching in a low income community, Harvey coming through has devastated many of our children. We are in a Title 1 school where some of our students are not sure where their next meal will come from.
Having the exposure of new and intriguing objects that we are requesting allow our students to broaden their knowledge in a fun and interesting way.
Each gift we receive is greatly appreciated and will be used on a daily basis during our regular classes as well as our intervention time.
My Project
My students are knowledge-seeking. They have questions often, they want to know more information, and they want to be responsible to find that information.
We need technology to allow for this research to happen.
My students gain independence when finding answers to their own questions in science and social studies and the research allows for their brains to process deeper information.
Chromebooks will also allow for typing skills to increase, which is a valuable skill needed in life. Many jobs in a young adult's life involve keyboard and typing knowledge and this is important to teach at a young age for higher rate of retention.
Research has many teaching tools and Chromebooks will help my students to succeed.
