Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is made of 17 English Language Learners. My students are always eager to learn. My students are willing to take on any new challenge. They always strive to be and do the best at everything they do. They have a growth mindset that keeps them going! They have learned that failure is just a step to success. They like to collarborate to help each other. They motivate me to be a better teacher everyday I come to work.
My Project
Students will be using The Hear Myself Sound Phones in order to hear themselves read and become fluent readers in English and Spanish. The phones will help them with pronunciation, speed and accuracy. materials ordered to print, display and put together presentations.
Sadako and the 1000 Cranes will be used to complete a book study as a class.
We need these five books in order to have a complete class set. So that all students will be able to take a copy home to reread for deeper understanding.
Students will be using the ink to print pictures and documents they research on topics of their choice in order to increase their knowledge base. They will compose presentations to share with other students. their work will be displayed and shared with our school. By going through the whole process from researching specific topics to the final products the students' ownership in their learning will increase.
