Students love technology! Everyone wants to be using the newest technology, including 2nd graders.
Every student wants to be able to use technology.
With 23 students it's difficult to share! My students are highly motivated when using technology but have little opportunity to do so with just two classroom computers and one tablet.
Our school is in a rural New Hampshire community. Technology is limited in the school and many students do not have access to it outside of school. My students are a curious and creative bunch! They love to try new things and are enthusiastic about learning. Technology is everywhere in the world around them and they want to be able to access it at school also. Some students in my class are reluctant to complete written work. When the same work is presented on a computer they complete the work enthusiasm. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources for our students to use a variety of technology tools.
My Project
I am requesting two tablets so that my students can research online, use websites to reinforce and enrich my teaching, access books and use apps to reinforce skills learned. I choose a tablet instead of a laptop because it provides many of the same benefits as a laptop at a much lower cost. It is also easier to move around the classroom so many students can easily access it. Cases and screen protectors are important to help keep them safe and in the best condition.
We are preparing students for a world full of technology.
Students need to know how to use technology appropriately to access information. Through the use of this technology, students will be exposed to 21st-century tools and be more prepared for their futures. The possibilities are endless!
