My Students

My students are ready to read and write. My class is a mixed gender group of 9 and 10 year old students. My room is alive and the learning is occurring as soon as my students enter their classroom,and extends far beyond the limits of the school day.

My hope is to add interesting small group American Revolutionary War research resources and historical fiction book club resources that will enhance their learning experience with the Lucy Calkins reading and writing programs.

The units of study build upon collaboration, communication and building a love for reading.

My Project

The materials I'm requesting will provide an additional tool my students can use (Chromebook) and provide rich literature for my students to enjoy in their book clubs,

Research and reading our key components of 21st century learning skills.

The Chromebook will allow one more student to use the research tool to locate information and build a project that utilizes numerous online resources. The selection of Newbery Award Winners will support the unit on book clubs. The selections offer such rich and engaging literature that will offer many discussion topics within the reading clubs. With your support we can make this happen.
