Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

In the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades, students engage in research on any topic they choose multiple times a year. One of their favorite activities is Mystery History where they dress up as a historical person and write clues for others to guess. This takes tons of research and writing. Research and presenting are cornerstones of Upper Elementary.

These books would help students continue to dig deep in their research on topics that intrigued them like Botany, history, art, and science.

These books would be staples in our classroom for years to come and would be the jumping-off point for many of the students in appreciating non-fiction literature and learning about the world around them.
