"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go." — Dr. Seuss
My classroom is a busy place and we do not waste any time in the day.
Each day is packed with activities that help students learn new concepts and ideas, think deeply and independently, express themselves, collaborate with classmates, and set and achieve goals.
My Project
My students will use these materials during Daily 5 (literacy workshop), during which students meet in reading groups read; and practice spelling, vocabulary, and writing skills. Using these materials independently and in small groups, students can practice using skills that I teach during language arts instruction. The Word Station will help my students to build contractions, sort parts of speech, construct plurals and more! The kit includes answer cards and a guide with 4 reproducible activity sheets and a recording sheet for informal assessments.
The Fiction and Nonfiction Paired Passages comes with 8 different reading folders—perfect for deepening students’ understanding of a topic…through different points of view! Plus, each folder features a reproducible worksheet on back so students get practice identifying genres, using text evidence to support their answers, and drawing connections between fiction and nonfiction texts.
Donations to this project will improve my classroom by providing my students with exciting materials for learning stations designed to help students read and respond to text and work on improving their grammar skills.
