Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am honored to teach a wonderful population of students. A majority of the students are English Language Learners (ELL), and my school serves as a host school for refugees coming from various places.
I look forward to every day with my students, embracing the wonderful differences and experiences they each bring.
I want my students to know they are valued, loved, and safe when they come into the classroom. I strive to model and teach growth mindset so each kiddo knows that their potential is limitless.
My Project
My classroom is home to a diverse group of students. We spend our days learning content and learning from each other. Each of my students has something important to offer everyone else, something that no one else is able to offer.
I want my students to feel represented and important in our classroom.
I want my students to look at our classroom library with these new books and see characters that look like them. I want them to be able to relate to the literature and feel like their experiences have value.
My classroom does a lot of visual representation of our learning. The crayons and markers in various skin tones will help bring their projects to life and give a more accurate representation of the ideas of what their characters will look like.
