As a first grade special education teacher, I get to help support children with the foundational skills they will need to be successful readers, writers, and thinkers. Now more than ever, we need to help spark these creative young minds to make our world better!
"I'm a reader!" "I did it!" "Come and listen to me read!" Watching a student's eyes light up as the English language finally clicks and all the letters finally fit together to make the words of their beloved stories come to life, has been the highlight of my professional career.
We are working hard with kids and families to spark this love of learning and reading come to life in this virtual school time. With your help, we can ensure that all students have the support and tools they need to have this incredible moment that enables all future educational pursuits at home with digital and physical books!
My Project
This project provides books that celebrate diversity and inclusion. It is important for students to develop their own identities, they strengths, what makes them special, and what connects them. These diverse books celebrate many cultures to promote these positive self-love. Additionally, these books help students learn about kindness, being a good friend, and how to express and process big feelings. These books will allow students to have physical books as they continue to learn online. Thank you for helping our children grow into tomorrow's leaders. The wold needs them now!
