This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have a small team of 13 educators in our Tk - 5th grade elementary school. You'd be shocked at what a classroom looks like before the students come each year. Barebones to give you imagery. You most likely have walked into your child's classroom and you were taken back of all the hard work that went into making it bright, beautiful, and functional. Let me tell you, it was all from their teachers after-hours time, and 95% of the time it came from their wallet. We don't beautify just because WE want a beautiful place to work.

We beautify it because we want to create an environment where students feel safe, loved, and excited to be in.

I have included in my cart decor that has representation of all cultures and races and messages of having a positive mindset. I plan to provide all of these decor items to my very hard-working staff so they can refrain for purchasing it themselves (for once.) And also the messages that these posters and decor represent will be one small impactful way students can see themselves and aim to go higher in their educational endeavorers.
