Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a diverse group of third-grade students from a small farming community in northern California. We do not allow our financial backgrounds or differences to hold us back from achieving our goals. We are part of the No Excuses University program.
Our public school has a large number of students who receive free or reduced-price lunch.
Many students are not able to bring much-needed supplies from home in order to be successful in school. We enjoy reading, writing, doing math, as well as learning about science, history, and technology.
My Project
Do you remember hanging good reports that you got from school on the refrigerator? How about having that talking to from your guardians when a not so good report was sent home? By doing distance learning, sending actual papers have become difficult. While teaching from home, I don't have all the materials that I need.
Having a report in hand seeing how well a child is doing in class speaks volumes.
Unfortunately, not all parents check their email or view the attachments. Having the ability to mail reports home and getting them in the parents' and students' hands I believe will help with motivation and pride.
