Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are very creative and extremely hard working. Many of my students have never had someone who believed in them. Through incorporating teamwork, geometry, communication arts and theatre, my students have excelled in cross-curriculum education in my stagecraft class. The past few school years, DonorsChoose has helped my students bridge the curriculum barriers and even receive several nominations for theatrical awards in the Kansas City area. DonorsChoose has helped change their lives and helped give me additional supplies to assist in their education and success.

My Project

My students need more gaffers tape for upcoming shows and projects in class. They also need a heavy duty staple remover to remove staples from the staple gun. My students need a new miter saw for safety reasons. They also need a carpenter's pencil sharpener to help sharpen the flat pencils. We also need new tape measures, as many of our are old and/or broken. I also need a megaphone to ensure my students hear me, no matter where they are in the auditorium and scene shop areas during stagecraft class. We also need pillows for our upcoming spring play.
