My Students
My second grade students come from various cultural backgrounds and live in a diverse community in an inner city. Many come from low-income homes and several speak English as a second language. They come to school with inquisitive minds and a desire to learn. We set our learning goals weekly and work diligently together to achieve them.
My students are engaged and strive to be the best they can be.
Each day presents new opportunities to share their love of learning in many creative ways. Providing each student with the best possible environment to maximize their learning experience is of great importance in helping to attain each students' goals. It is important for this population of students to have access to hands-on materials that help support the curriculum they are learning about.
My Project
My students are eager to learn and show what they know. By replenishing our supply of Expo Markers, students can continue using whiteboards at center rotations to solve problems. The cardstock will be used to make games that reinforce skill learned in class.
We are also trying to replenish basic essentials such as pencils, erasers, and gluesticks that we use on a daily basis.
I try to purchase them when I can, but it can become costly with 26 students. I also give students these supplies to use at home since they often do not have them to complete their homework.
