Help me give my students the materials they need to learn in their small group lessons. We use these supplies every day in order to conduct engaging reading groups.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The school district of UC works to transform the lives of every student, every day. As teachers, we strive to meet our students on their level and provide real-world experiences that will prepare them for college and beyond.
My students come to school to learn how to compete in an ever-changing, competitive world.
Though they come from various backgrounds, it is my job to ensure that every student is engaged and challenged.
As a reading specialist, my goal is to create lifelong readers by engaging their interests and ensuring my students have a choice in their reading.
My Project
My classroom is designed to provide individualized small group reading instruction. Every day, we read a new book, practice morphology and decoding, write, and analyze literature.
These materials will allow me to successfully engage my learners.
We use dry erase markers and expo spray for students to think individually and respond using dry erase boards. We use lined poster paper to discuss texts as a class and record our collective thoughts.
All of these supplies help to create motivation in their learning and ensure a smooth lesson. The key to reading growth is providing an interactive environment where every voice is heard and affirmed.
