Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are the reason I get up in the morning with a smile on my face; I am excited to work with them every day. They motivate me to be a better teacher. Throughout the year, I want to help them as much as I possibly can by bringing math to life and providing them with new opportunities.
I want to provide the best learning environment I possibly can, where students look forward to going to class every day and are sad to leave at the end of the class period.
I teach at a Title I school, meaning the majority of my students are economically disadvantaged. Even with the hardships they go through my students have the biggest hearts in the world. They are always wanting to help each other and even provide a lending hand to adults around the school. I am extremely blessed to work with the students that I do.
My Project
While experiencing this new normal with having to teach my students virtually and trying to reach them in different ways, I am learning the importance of showing my students how to use technology in an educational sense in my classroom on a regular basis.
This project is hopefully the first of a few to help replace some of my older Chromebooks that I have in my classroom that are starting to give me a few hiccups when students use them in my robotics class.
Chromebooks are used on a daily basis in my robotics classes, and after we return back to school I plan to use them even more in my math classes utilizing many of the new resources I am discovering.
