My Students

My students are a group of physically challenged students who are in a substantially separate setting do to their needs. They are energetic and dynamic but sometimes it is hard to include them in mainstreams settings. My students are often lower academically than many of their mainstream peers of the same age.

More than 75% of the class comes from families that are considered high poverty.

The students come from a wide variety of nationalities and cultures. The students and staff have created an environment that celebrates diversity. The school has a wonderful inclusive environment for all its students.

My Project

My special needs students use tablets for much of their work. The tablets are used for speech, reading writing and practice in all areas of study. Some of the students take the iPads home to do their work. The tablets are also the only technology many of the students are able to use at home. The iPads are useful and in good shape, the problem is the charging cords have been lost or broken over time. I need 10 lightning power cables 10 power adapters and 1 charging cord for an Apple computer. The items are used on a daily basis by the students to access the curriculum.
