Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are enthusiastic about learning! They are both caring and loving. They come to school every day with a smile and always ask, what are we going to do today?
As a teacher, that's a big question, because every day is new, exciting, and applicable to these students.
My students enjoy hands-on learning, music, dancing, and anything that makes noise! They enjoy socializing, moving, singing, and learning in an active way. I want to give that to my students this year. Please help us.
My Project
I really like how this project is focused on my RIRA (repeated interactive read aloud). Last year, I used a die cut machine, for which I traveled an hour to use at the county's resource center. My students love the die cuts, but it took a long time and the distance was time consuming, as well.
This year, the Cricut Explore will give me an opportunity to cut a variety of die-cuts I can use for building vocabulary visuals during a RIRA.
I will be using whiteboard tape to my word wall. I will use the tape on the whiteboard to quickly write sight words or commonly used words easier than writing them on an index card or paper.
I will be using the Ikea wire curtain rods to display chart papers based on the current theme or topic of the week. I will place these wires along the back of my classroom so students can refer to it all unit long.
These materials are essential in building an effective classroom for the year.
