I have a great group of sixth grade students with a variety of needs and abilities. My students work incredibly hard to achieve success. They thrive when given hands-on activities, color, and movement. We may be the smallest middle school in Craven County but we make up for it in school spirit and pride for our community. My students need support to thrive but I know they can do anything they put their minds to!

My Project
Our students have seen devastation in their homes and community in the last two weeks. Losing everything from power to their homes has been a stressful and terrifying experience for many. Our middle school will be a safe haven for many of them after we are able to return to school in the coming weeks.
My students need tracing paper, colored pencils and expo markers to refill their Geometry toolkits.
On Tuesday before we evacuated for the impending hurricane the students and I were working on finding the area of parallelograms. We use a hands-on approach to make concrete sense of math. The supplies needed to replenish these kits will be the last thing I want our families to be thinking about. Donors like you will be able to support hands-on math education in Craven County.
