Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My wonderful sixth, seventh and eighth graders! What can I say about them? Simply put, they are amazing, intelligent, energetic, outgoing, and curious human beings who every day, bring a smile to my face.
They live in a low-income high poverty area and they are eager to read, write, and learn!
They attend a school funded through Title I, and many of my students are English Learners. As technology continues to take over a big part of their daily lives, I want to make sure that students are able to create work that they can show-off to parents, staff, and students. My students are not only tech-savvy but critical thinkers who are ready to take on the world!
My Project
Help me recognize and motivate students to continue to do their best! I especially want to recognize my RSP students who are working above and beyond during these difficult and challenging times. The RSP program (Resource Specialist Program) is a program to help children who qualify for special education services. My RSP students have to work very hard to overcome their learning disabilities during a regular school year, and remote learning has been extra challenging for them and their families.
It is easy for students to lose their motivation and drive during remote learning but not for my RSP students, who continue to show up every day and work very hard to complete assignments.
I want to recognize their hard work and achievements by mailing them a gift card and a motivational card to encourage them to keep going despite the challenges they are facing in their daily lives. I want them to know that I am proud of their efforts, that I see how hard they are working, and that they deserve special recognition.
