Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I work in a school that is located in a low income neighborhood. There are many scholars from diverse backgrounds.

Nearly all scholars in my school qualify for free school meals.

My first grade classroom scholars possess a positive outlook on learning. They are eager to learn, and look forward to coming to school everyday.

Despite socioeconomic disadvantages, our melting pot of scholars possesses a positive outlook on learning. Each child is unique and deserves quality resources and experiences that will shape their future.

Being that we are a Title I school however, it’s often a challenge to find funding to purchase materials and resources. Basic classroom supplies and technology are in high demand in our school, and our scholars deserve to experience high quality education and resources.

My Project

This school year has been different to say the least. Hybrid learning has changed the way we all learn. With scholars learning and completing work online, technology is now more important than ever.

Acer Chromebooks will make a difference in our scholars’ learning by allowing them to access our learning platforms daily.

Engaging lessons for Math, Science, ELA, Social Studies and Computer Science can be easily accessed. Scholars will be able to upload and submit work, create projects, and engage with other students through "breakout rooms".

With your donation, the Acer Chromebooks will be used for both remote and in-person learning.
