I am a first grade teacher in Auburn, MA who is teaching a hybrid class this year. My students are so excited about learning Technology and always come to class with smiles on their faces. I have lots of different style learners in my classes as well as students who speak many different languages. I love what I do because I feel that it reaches so many children on different levels.some kids have many opportunities at home to practice using Technology and others only use it at school. It is a very exciting subject to teach.
My goal is to reach all of my first graders in a positive way and to hopefully witness their 'ah ha' moment when they succeed and can relate to what I am teaching on a personal level.
This to me is the reason I teach the subject that I do. Because I am teaching remote this year, I am looking to find some exciting things for the students to learn while mainly utilizing Ipads. I will be using the Teachers Pay Teachers Website to find ideas and lessons that are appropriate for remote learning.
My Project
I am going to be teaching first grade both in and out of the school for this school year. My goal is to use the best resources out there (other teachers) to find ideas and lessons that I will be able to adapt for my First graders to learn remotely. It definitely won't be the same as being in the classroom but at least I can make it fun for them learning at home! One of the lessons I am hoping to teach is coding. In school, we use robots and I am able to walk the students through different coding scenarios. Remotely this will be more difficult so I am looking for some creative ways through Teachers Pay Teachers to present these lessons so that they can be adapted for remote learning.
