Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The children in my class are all unique and filled with different personalities but what I love most about them, is that each one has so much to give. Most of my children are from low-income families who struggle financially, but their love for their children and their dreams for their success is evident in my children every single day.
The children in my classroom might be young in age, but they have a big heart and a creative mind.
They love to laugh even when they are having a bad day, they learn to try even when they feel like they can't do it, they hug and say "I love you" to comfort others, and most of all they value family and friendship. In my class, they are not just my students, they are my family.
My Project
As schools begin to shut all around due to the increasing number of cases, teachers, students, and families will be following the remote learning model. Especially for my Kindergarten, I want to give them a better learning experience through the computer. However, my recent computer keyboard and mouse do not work. The school does not even have enough funding to provide teachers with new technologies.
I am currently a Kindergarten teacher, and I would love to be able to have my students see me as I model, teach, dance, and sing with them to help them grow throughout the school year.
Since they are so young, we do a lot of modeling in whole groups and small groups. As a teacher, I want nothing more but to help them succeed, and right now, more than ever we need to rely on technology to teach.
