My students are amazing children that strive for love and learning! Being in an inner-city school, whose student body is diverse both academically and socioeconomically, there are many challenges they face. Many of the students are English Language Learners and come from different living conditions. They have come here for a better life, and most of all, a better education. They are hard-working children that come to school each day eager and excited to learn. As first-grade students, they understand the importance of education and are beyond willing and ready to learn every day. With little to no support beyond the walls of their school, they soak up each minute we have together and always try their best.
My Project
To begin the 2020-2021 school year, our school will be 100% remote learning, which means all children will be working and learning from home. The majority of my students do not have the necessary materials to learn at home successfully.The materials I have requested are basic school supplies. The binders will create a place for them to keep all their reference materials in one place as well as pencil cases to hold the pencils, sharpeners, and crayons. These supplies will help my students work from home as well as be organized with their materials..
My students would benefit greatly from having these supplies to help with their learning while they do so from their own homes.
Taking the worry away about where supplies will come from will be a great start to this school year. I want to help ensure families have these materials, in a time of need.
