My students come from many diverse backgrounds. The students are in a high standard school. We have rigorous instruction and are always on the the cutting edge of the education world. The students come from homes that are diverse in socioeconomic backgrounds as well. No matter their background the students are hard working and have made tremendous growth this year. Over 1/3 of my students come from homes that are free and reduced lunch. This means they are in need of some financial assistance.
My Project
These items will help the students stay connected from home and also connect their learning during hybrid learning. They will help us connect both in person and remote learning at the same time.
It will help the teacher see and connect with the students by allowing the teacher to monitor work while also helping students on zoom.
The headphones will help me walk around the room while still talking to students at home. The students will use the headphones to communicate with me and listen to stories and lessons on their chromebooks.
I have two students specifically that do not have headphones and struggle to engage in the lessons while in school and at home because they cannot hear or communicate with me. The monitors will be used for daily instruction. The students will be able to see the teacher in class as well as the lessons at the same time when I extend my screen. Right now I can only see the students or the lesson, so there is a great deal of instruction time lost switching between and choosing which one will be seen by me. The monitors will be a huge help in bridging the gap between hybrid students and remote students as I will be able to freely move around the room while still connecting with students at home. The Bose headphones will be used by me for remote instruction as is it often very loud where I do my lessons and the noise cancelling feature will be able to help me focus on the students in class. Remote learning has been a struggle for students and teachers, and this program will help so much.
