Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
When our school closed my students were just sent home with their weekend assignments because we did not find out until Sunday that our school would be closed effective the next day. Our students did not have the chance to say goodbye to their friends or teachers. Nor did they did not have the opportunity to take any of their materials with them. Some of my students have iPads or Chromebooks to help them with their remote learning while others are still waiting for their devices. My students live in a poverty-stricken area and they often do not have the necessary resources to help them with their work and they often have a difficult time understanding the assignments that are posted online. That is why I am choosing to do live teaching so that I can interact with my students and they can hear me, talk to me and ask me questions. Our kids deserve to be taught as best we can during this exceptionally trying time.
My Project
These resources will help my students in numerous ways. We will be able to create word walls, anchor charts and sentence starters while we are participating in remote teaching. These resources will allow me to help my students to continue to learn in a more interactive manner.
My students need to feel as though they are in the classroom with me and these resources will allow for that.
These resources will allow me to create a mini classroom while we are misplaced from our actual classroom. I know my students will love to see these materials.
