Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are three, four and five years old. Our classroom is a child centered learning environment where the students are building their social and academic skills. They are enthusiastic, creative and full of life. Each of them have their own unique personality and have a special place in my heart. Each day they come to school with an eagerness to learn!

Since the pandemic, remote learning has become a challenge.

My students live in an urban area where many families cannot afford the technology needed for the students to learn. They have missed out on their education as a result. Parents of these students want their children to receive the best education and to see them succeed. Continued support from the community along with the proper technology, will help my students will succeed.

My Project

The use of tablets is required daily to meet with me virtually. Using tablets will enable my students to interact with each other and myself during instruction. The tablets will allow me to see students do their work as instruction is given. In addition, they can also share their work with one another. The problem is that students, who do not have access to a device, cannot attend school remotely and are missing out on their education. By having a tablet, students will receive an education and increase their learning.
