This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school closed March 13th and my students are spread out across several municipalities. Our district did fundraising to get Chromebooks to every family in the district.
Students have access to an online curriculum, but as special education students they really need more explicit multisensory instruction in reading and math.
I have been doing Zoom lessons with each of my small groups to provide the reading and math interventions they need in order to maintain their skills and grow. However, not all of our curriculum materials and manipulatives are available online.
My Project
I have been doing Zoom lessons with my students daily, but have struggled with only being able to present content that was available online. Other manipulatives and information presented on the webcam are grainy or have to be held up.
This document camera will allow me to use high quality video with all of my classroom materials including manipulatives, books, and visual materials to present multisensory lessons to ensure that kids are able to not only maintain their reading and math skills, but continue learning.
With this camera I will be able to keep kids engaged and keep them learning during this difficult time! Using this camera I can continue to do live lessons as well as record lessons that the students can do at anytime remotely.
