Help me give my students supplies needed to display and/or archive our accomplishments at local, state, and international level events. These supplies will let us organize and display our trophies, letters of recognition, and awards.
We are located in the oldest areas of town and about 75% of my students are on free and reduced lunches. Our school's homeless and poverty rate is so high we also provide a free breakfast for every student every day. My students are very diverse in their backgrounds, needs, and goals for the future. Our population is 45% Hispanic and about 10% Asian many of these are not native English speakers. Many of my students are being raised in a non-traditional home. They are being raised by grandparents, other family members or they are in DHS custody.
With all of their challenges, they come in ready to work every day.
This work ethic and makes me strive to be a better teacher for them. I only hope I can inspire them as much as they do me every day.
My Project
These supplies will be used to archive or display past awards and accomplishments associated with our class and DECA chapter, students of today and the future can be inspired by the what previous students, with similar backgrounds and challenges were able to achieve.
With these books, students will have easy access to see what students in the past were able to achieve; this access will give them a platform from which to build the dreams that will become their future successes.
Help us to remember the successes in our past and use them to inspire us and prepare us for successes in our future.
