My students need an iPad to engage their learning.
"We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher's hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world" -David Warlick
My students are impoverished yet ambitious children.
The school and community is 60% Hispanic, 35% African American, and 5% Caucasian. Therefore most students are still learning the English language. My school lacks technology for the students, which is a major obstacle in their learning.
My students will use this iPad for teaching and reinforcing instruction. Students will utilize the apps for learning English, letter sounds, and phonics. This app will also serve as a strategy for kinesthetic learners especially in math. There are several apps for division, rounding, and multiplication.
This iPad will help to teach my remediation lessons to students because these students did not understand the material in whole instruction.
Therefore, they need a deeper understanding and hands on manipulative approach.
