Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title I low income school located in Illinois. Our students are from all ethnic groups, low socioeconomic classes, and a diversity of cultures, with many students speaking English as a second language.
Despite their hardships and our limited resources, it is our mission to provide exposure to technology and ensuring educational opportunities that affluent neighborhoods may have.
I'm creating this 3D project to complement my posted Makerspace project, to help our students prepare for careers that require strong technical skills, increasingly important to ensuring that educational opportunity is open to all children, regardless of their economic status.
My Project
This 3D printer will complement our Makerspace, capitalizing on teachers’ and students’ enthusiasm for technology.
I am seeking more ways to use technology for the greatest gain in student achievement, which is particularly crucial in urban and rural/small-town schools.
By encouraging our students to use technology in more creative ways it also permits more flexibility in instruction and by providing incentives that support technology-enriched programs. As students think, create, and complete projects, this 3D printer will allow students to take display and take home a concrete object of their thinking!
