My Students
Our school is a small intermediate school with 4th through 6th graders. We are situated in a coastal town in South Carolina.
I find the students in my class to be energetic, creative, and a kind group of fourth grade students.
Students come from differing backgrounds and with all different needs to be met. I strive each day to give them the very best I can. I love seeing them learn, grow, and most importantly be kind and helpful to one another. I am a big advocate of helping students through differentiated instruction so that each student can learn in the way that best suits them. My hope is to be able to use DonorsChoose.org to enhance their learning environment to meet their individual needs.
My Project
This wonderful online resource will be used when learning in the classroom and at home. Storyworks helps to provide students with differentiated reading activities, leveled articles, audiobooks, vocabulary slideshows, and videos that build background knowledge to support reading efforts. I am looking to make reading virtually rewarding, fun, and accessible to students and families from their own homes. My hope is that this can be an excellent tool for students to read stories from all genres and help to engage them with activities that help teach important fourth grade standards.
