My students need tools that help relieve their stress and anxiety. Fidget cubes, which are shown to be more effective than fidget spinners since you can't use them as toys, will help me accomplish that.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from a variety of different academic levels, socioeconomic backgrounds, faiths and family structures. They come from diverse places with experiences, with diverse needs, and diverse learning styles. Our school serves a high needs population, which face various issues that can negatively impact their academic success.
My students have diverse dreams, and I plan to make those possible for every single one of them by responding to them in diverse ways.
Education is designed to be a promise of a bright future, and you can help make those dreams a reality by funding this project.
My Project
Have you ever tried to work on a big project for work, but your distracted? Has this distraction ever caused you to be less effective? Well, students, especially students at the middle school level have the same issue. Imagine taking a test, or working on a big project, and all you can focus on is clicking your pen, which of course, annoys your neighbor. This anxiety, whether it be from ADHD or issues at home can distract from the academic task ahead.
Recently, fidget cubes have been shown as an effective way to relieve this anxiety, which allows them to focus their minds on their work - leading to more achievement!
I have also included in the project some research on how to best meet the needs of ADHD students who are also in the millennial generation.
