My students attend a Title I school and need a lot of resources that they can't afford. I've had students whose needs aren't being met by many people but I try my hardest to get the ball rolling! Many parents in my community work hard to provide all that they can for their kids but I want them to have a positive learning environment where curiosity is the focus.
My students are deserving, and I want them to be able to continue to learn through independent guided lessons online .
As an ancillary teacher I see over 800 students throughout the school year and hope that I can impact every single one of them.
My students have been keeping up with my technology class as we have moved through various units and projects. I recently dropped my laptop while working in my room and the internet stopped working on it. I have found a workaround that can keep the laptop online but it's gotten very slow. My district laptop is older and doesn't keep up with the processing power needed to manage a classroom of desktops.
Managing a Pre-K through 5th grade Technology/Social Studies classroom along with two robotics clubs requires a lot of patience and planning.
With a brand new laptop, I could easily get class content uploaded, and easily track projects we are working on. Whether it be building roller coasters out of K'nex or recording podcasts, all the components that are put into the planning of my lessons are intensive and a laptop with better Wi-Fi and a faster processor could get lots of work done.
We have a class website that is used across grade levels. My content focused students whom I see twice weekly use the website to follow along with our weekly projects. My regular enrichment students work on the website to keep up with vocabulary, and independent guided learning.
