This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hello! This is my second year teaching and so far, it has been an adventure. I have sixteen 4th graders in a greatly diverse area. My students have been through a number of trials that many children do not have to go through.

All of my students are low-income students.

My students love engaging and innovative activities. I would love to give them more learning opportunities through these activities but unfortunately I lack the resources to do so. I would appreciate your help!

My Project

All of my students come from low income homes and don't have a wide variety of books which to read.

I want to create a cozy, home-y corner for them to sit back, relax, and learn to love reading.

I know the colorful carpet and comfortable folding camp chairs will help encourage my students to go to the classroom library to pick a book and just enjoy reading.

I believe all students have the ability to enjoy reading; some students just don't have the opportunity to. Thank you for helping fund my project to instill a love of reading in all children.
