This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In our classroom we love to learn in spite of the challenges most of us face. We come from many different nationalities. We come from different cultures. Many of us are learning English. Almost all of us live in poverty. Most of us read below grade level, but we're excited about how much we're improving! We have lots of energy and are starting to develop of love for learning. Having an inviting and engaging classroom space helps us stay excited about learning.

My Project

Having beanbag chairs to sit in while we read will give us a chance to learn to enjoy reading even more. Most of us are struggling readers, but having good fit books and fun reading spots help us overcome our struggles and enjoy our reading time more.

Learning to enjoy reading time by having some fun spots in the classroom where students can read will help them want to read more.

This is particularly important since most of our students do not see their parents enjoying reading at home. Learning to enjoy reading will change the future for these students.
