Every year, Kindergarten classrooms consist of very special groups of students! Each one has an interest and talent all of their own. Some of them are learning their letters and sounds while others are just starting to read! All students are trying to gain a basic number sense. In order to meet the individual needs as well as also challenge my students, I would like to be able to provide them with the best materials possible. These materials must also make their day of learning a lot smoother so that more learning takes place.
Students coming into Kindergarten need fun and engaging ways to stay focused on any topic at hand. These materials will help keep each child excited about coming to school! I am requesting materials that can be used during crucial small group times. Basic number sense skills will be enhanced with the use of the erasable number lines, practice with the Rekenreks as well as the Number Sense and Place Value activity centers. A better understanding will also be obtained by using the number bonds. Students will be able to hear letter sounds and the way words sound with the use of the Hear Me Phones. When they begin to read books they can read to themselves and hear how they sound. The flexible seating options, such as the wobble chair and the soft seats, will help students who may need a different seating option to complete their work at ease. With your support of this project, my students will be able to learn new material in a relaxed and hands-on fashion. My students will appreciate your generosity and will be thrilled to come to school each day and learn!
