Help me give my students a relaxing environment to be able to help them learn in this new normal that we are all working with. The light covers will help keep the harsh over head lights down.
The background of my students is very diverse, having students from right here in Florida to different states and countries. I have 8th graders this year and they all just want to learn and help each other. While adjusting to this new normal we have thanks to COVID.
Most of my students are from low-income households.
I work across the school and get to see many different groups of students. We have a wide range of cultural and economic differences, but at school they all come together to have a safe and fun learning environment. Just because they come from a poor home environment does not mean these children deserve less. I know that my students are capable of doing great things, and my dream is to help them reach theirs.
My Project
I am requesting the light covers for the overhead lights to help make the classroom more relaxing and inviting. With the need of using technology all day our students are stuck looking at a computer screen more than normal. With these light covers and the string of lights I hope to reduce the light in the classroom to help keep headaches away.
When the learning environment is relaxing, students feel welcomed and safe.
I want to ensure that my middle school students feel comfortable and the least amount of stress. Our new normal of not sharing materials and needing to wear a mask all day is stressful and difficult for everyone.
