My Project

I would love to give my students a safe, warm and comfortable space in my classroom fully equipped with snacks and drinks. There will be a warm rug and comfortable seating. They will be able to take a beak and destress when they are feeling overwhelmed. It will be a place to unwind and regulate their emotions.

This calming space will teach my students how to recognize and advocate for themselves when they need a break.

Sometimes we just need to step away from stress in order to move past it. What more could we ask for than a snack, something to drink and a warm place to unwind. Children need to know that it is ok to feel these emotions and take a break sometimes. When they are ready, they can rejoin class and move forward with a full belly and hopefully a clear mind.
